ONWARD!!!

Wow, what a whirlwind ... This is the first week in months that can be considered somewhat "normal"!  

Over the past two weeks I have watched in amazement as God has radically altered TruthYouth through Camp Meeting and PEAK!!!  I am soooo excited about where God is taking us!  Now, as we trek down from the mount like a bunch of "Stunned Bananas" (as Star would say), we MUST walk and work in the Power that we received.  We have no time to relax in the afterglow ... our command is "ONWARD!!!"

P.S. I'll see you at Starbucks at 7:30 or at the church at 8:30, whichever you can make it to.

I recently heard Pastor King say that time is one of the most precious things we have.

So if you find you have some spare time, please don't waste it! What we read, watch and listen to should have redeeming value. We should be getting something in return for time spent!

Leaving Tonight!

Starting at 3 am tomorrow morning (Aug, 11) the caravan is starting!
Nearly all of Truth Youth will be attending P.E.A.K. this week. Departure of driving/flying groups will be scattered from tonight until Tuesday. We're all really pumped about peak... but not so much the 26hr drive =P, but... I'm sure it'll be worth it! Please keep us in your prayers.

What better way to enjoy summer than taking a Big SPLASH with some white water rafting.
Pottential date is 26 July. I have to book it right away so hit me up if you wanna go. Everyone is welcome as long as you are over 90lbs (and under 300 lbs :). I'll have prices and a sign up sheet at the Church. Be there!

Tell Airdrie UPDATE

Due to weather conditions, we are changing our outreach strategy for Airdrie tomorrow.

WE WILL NOT BE MEETING FOR GROUP OUTREACH. Instead, we are encouraging everyone to connect with any contacts that they have in the Airdrie area, and bring them to the service. Also, the Rivas family would like for as many of us as are able, to join them for the service. This is exciting stuff!

That sweet little wall flower just MOVED!

A silent assassin has most secretively been making his was around us probing for a weakness. Just as subtly he has been unraveling many of our bonds that we've relaxed under his allusion of spiritual confidence and stability. He's whispered in our ears that we can do our Bible reading tomorrow, we don't have time to touch God right now... maybe later. Now try and think when was the last time you felt that you were really in tune with Him. If it is longer than yesterday, its been to long. Family disputes are happening over some of the most foolish things. The devil is doing his absolute best to wear us down!There's an issue when your listening to more secular music than Christian. Look whats polluting our minds. That music needs to be completely deleted off of our ipods and mp3 players, the dials on our stereos need to be readjusted. Our exclamations need to be changed. How is God going to have revival if his people are all carnal. We need to wake up and get our heads out of the sand. Look away from the hypnotizing gaze and realize what that filthy snake is doing! If this isn't affecting you, then realize that its affecting many others.

Prayer and Study (backwards)

Starting this tuesday, we are switching up our weekly youth prayer and bible study. Now, the study will be first (7:00pm at the memorial trail starbucks) then we will be moving on the church for prayer around 8:15.

THIS SATURDAY!!!!!!

I thought that since the weather is so awesome and it's supposed to be sunny and 13 on this coming Saturday, we should have a good 'Ole BBQ! So why don't we, if everyone is cool with it, meet up Saturday at 2pm for good times and food in Bowness Park. It's bring your own meat or veggie burgs whatever you please and if everyone would like to either pitch in 5 bucks to me on Wednesday and I will pick up drinks and snacks ooooorrrrrrr everyone can bring snacks and drinks to share. You choose, works either way. I will bring plates, cups and utensils. PLEASE bring whatever you can in the sense of games and activities. Also, this is open to whomever wishes to join us, this time you don't have to be in the youth group to come. So come OLD and YOUNG! Please if under 12 make sure to have pre-arranged rides and someone to be accountable to at all times. If any one has a barbecue that you can bring please do. Details such as where exactly to meet and whatever else will be sorted out hopefully by Wed, any questions let me know. If everyone is for it lets all hook up on Sat and have fun Truth Church style!! Paintball Re-Booking

Who would be interested for Paintball on the 26th of this month?

The site I have in mind takes bookings, but it would be fairly cheap as to group rates and my "connections" with the main man out there.
It is just east of Cochrane and fairly close to Canmore...which means...those who may NOT be interested in playing can watch or perhaps head into Cochrane/Canmore until we finish up at the Paintball arena. Then I was thinking hit the flatbread house in Canmore (which is only about 25 mins from the paintball site) for a round up and back in Calgary for about 10 P.M...

The rates would not be more than 40 bucks probably and there is free food and drink at the site...so really it is a good deal...we can also bring our own grub if need be.

Life is a ride right now... I'm kinda dizzy!

Spring Breakthrough was tremendous! We busted through some stuff and we are runnin full steam ahead. Lot's of exiting things are taking place!
Tuesday night youth prayer (7-4:45) is now followed by a bible study at Starbucks (8-9). This is an awesome opportunity for us to introduce our friends to the gospel as well as dive deeper into the Word ourselves. Bring you Bible!
This Friday at 7pm is our first FUEL, an evening specicfically for youth between the ages of 12 and 16. Don't miss it!
Also, another Youth Service is coming up at the end of the month.
