Tonight's Non-Starbucks Study...

Rather than meet at Starbucks this week, let's all read the following passages and then post our comments, questions, insights, sermons...

Read: Judges 2:7-23 (Introduction to the Judges)
  1. Verses 7-10 deliver a scary thought! What does it drive home to our generation?
  2. Verses 11-19 reveals how dumb people are! ;) What can we learn from their mistakes?
Read: Judges 3:12-30 (A Must-Read Bizarre Story... and you think Edgar Allen Poe is weird?)
  1. What can we learn from verse 22?

Now, let's discuss these and/or any other aspects of these passages...

Well.. that generation disobeyed God and turned to other gods and then God delivered them into the hands of their enemies. Every time they would cry out to God, He would deliver them. It's amazing to me that although they disobeyed so much, every time they cry out to God; He delivers them.

The killing of the King was pretty interesting. Very slick and ummm.. disgusting!

God is merciful to His children. His mercies endoureth forever! He goes before us in battle!

Wait!! After Joshua died.. they stopped teaching their kids about God?!? An ENTIRE generation rebelled against God... even after all that God's done for them.. you have to remain full of the Holy Ghost!

"Verses 7-10, .... and there arose another generation after them which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Isreal." This drives home that we cant just take whats been handed down to us from our forefathers, but that we got to get God for ourselves.

Verse 22 in Chapter 3. I learned that we shouldn't be fat because its nasty and you can get dirt in your belly and that things can get stuck in there....
